Spring is finally here! It took until April, but we finally have sunshine and the first flowers blooming here in the Midwest. Lots of birds have finally started showing their faces in our neighborhood, and having a birdfeeder or two up in the yard has brought them right to my front porch – literally!
I just love the sight of birds flying around and hearing their chirps and chatter. It just brings a smile to my face. I now have several feeders around my yard, each one set up to attract different types of birds. This month I have a brand new feeder that Perky Pet has let me try out which is designed for finches – the Perky Pet Select-A-Finch Tube Feeder.
The Perky Pet® Select-A-Finch Tube Feeder is an inexpensive finch feeder that does a great job attracting the area finches to it. It is a wonderful option if you would like to attract finches to your yard but don’t want to spend a lot of money. For this feeder be sure to pick up thistle seed for your feeder. The holes in the feeder are designed just for it and the finches love it! One unique aspect of this feeder is that you can rotate the perches so they are upside down – which is ideal for goldfinches. They were simple to rotate and stayed in place well.
We hung this finch feeder in our backyard. We only have baby trees that were planted last week, so I have a trick for hanging feeders without trees – use plant hangers! In the garden section of most retailers you will find freestanding plant hooks in all sizes and colors. I picked up this one for only $6! They are perfect for hanging bird feeders from.
We got the feeder filled with thistle and set it out for the neighborhood finches to discover. The holes are perfect for the thistle and the finches will be very happy I’m sure. It always takes the birds a few days to find a new feeder so I will add photos of them as soon as the finches get comfortable with the feeder.
If you would like to hear the chirps of birds in your yard be sure to get a bird feeder and hang it in your yard. You can pick up this Select-A-Finch Tube Feeder online at birdfeeders.com (currently only $13.15) or in many retail stores near you. For more ideas and options be sure to check out some of the other bird feeders I have posted about before. I absolutely love having feeders in my yard and I recommend everybody have one. They help bring to beauty of nature right to you.
I received the feeder free of charge to facilitate this review.
