Monopoly ~ Save Your Token (& Giveaway)

I love Monopoly. It has been a staple in our house as long as I can remember. My sister and I used to set up games as teenagers that would last for days at a time. We would take over the living room floor and have everything spread out around the board. Our cat used to come lay down and take a nap in the center of the board while we played. Every single time I ever played I always used the Scottie Dog. I do not remember ever playing with a different token. When my kiddos got old enough to play they quickly learned the Scottie Dog was off limits – mom gets it, no questions asked. Ha, aren’t I a mean mom? I have a favorite token, what can I say! So do you have a favorite token? If so you may soon be losing it!

Monopoly is making a change! They are going to retire one of the traditional tokens and replace it with a new one. They are having a “Save Your Token” Campaign so we can have some say in what token is replaced. Votes will decide which one goes and which one replaces it. So now is the time to get your opinion heard and make sure you Save Your Token. To vote head over to www.Facebook.com/Monopoly. You don’t want to see your favorite token disappear. You can cast your ballot daily!

*Up for retirement are: the battleship, iron, racecar, Scottie dog, shoe, thimble, top hat, or wheelbarrow

*The five new tokens up for consideration are: the diamond ring, guitar, toy robot, cat, and helicopter

You know I will be voting for the Scottie Dog! My kids say they want to also vote for the Race Car and the Thimble as their favorites. Which one do I want of the new ones? Hhmm, I have to go with the helicopter since my hubby is a helicopter mechanic. We have helicopters everywhere around here!

We love Monopoly in our house. We have several edition but my kids tend to play with the traditional board the most. I am glad we have copy of the Classic Monopoly before they make the change. If you want the classic Monopoly make sure you get one before the new token arrives.
