It’s officially summer-time around here. It’s warm, the kids are out of school, and its time to have some outdoor fun. So last weekend we took the opportunity to have a great family BBQ and get-together. The kiddos really wanted to make s’mores so I thought this was he perfect opportunity to try out the new Duraflame Roasting Logs.
Duraflame Campfire Roasting Logs are the first fire logs specifically formulated for roasting and cooking. These logs are ideal to use in the backyard and the backwoods. These logs stack and burn like wood for a robust fire that creates hot, glowing coals safe for roasting marshmallows, hot dogs or cooking other campfire foods. The logs come in a four pack of logs that are easily stacked to create the perfect camp fire.
We took the pack of logs, got them set up in our fire pit and lit them up. They worked perfectly. They lit up super easy and held the flame well. There was no need to add any additional logs, wood, or lighter fluid. They also didn’t snap or crackle, so there were no embers flying through the air, which is great for fires around kids. I love the fact that there are no unhealthy chemicals in the logs to pollute your lungs or your food. Even the most sensitive of the group could not detect any odors or flavors that would arise from chemicals. So I felt completely comfortable cooking food for my kids over these logs.
Of course my family is full of pyros so they couldn’t help but add more logs after a few minutes, even if we didn’t need them. The duraflame logs kept burning well and lit the added logs with ease. Once the fire had all died down the duraflame logs were completely gone without any remnant paper or log laying around. I was impressed that they burned so much cleaner than the traditional logs.
Everyone had a blast creating s’mores over the fire. They made a variety of different concoctions and experimented a bit with just how much they could burn the marshmallows. The fire and the s’mores sure kept the whole crew busy for a long time.
If you are looking for some fun activities to do with the kids this summer I recommend you take the time to create a roasting fire and make some s’mores. You can even do it in your backyard – so no need to wait till you are out camping. The kids just love creating and eating the s’mores. It’s a great treat to celebrate the fun of summer. When you get ready for that fire I definitely recommend you check out the Duraflame Roasting Logs. They are a wonderful addition to the traditional campfire.
