We love games in our house and one of my kids’ favorites is Jenga. So when I saw the new Jenga Boom in stores a few weeks ago I knew we needed to get it! I was thrilled to find out a few days later that I would get to try out and review the new Jenga Boom.
Jenga Boom is basically the original Jenga moved up to fast paced play. You build the Jenga tower on an exploding platform. You play Jenga as normal but after a certain amount of time the platform explodes and the tower collapses. So you need to move fast! It’s a great way to get the kids energized in the game of Jenga since they have to stay on their toes. Just for the record the game does not actually explode! I had to giggle when I saw the warning the put on the box to make sure nobody expected an actual explosion.

When the Jenga Boom arrived I had four kids begging me to hurry up and take pictures so they could play with it. I literally had them handing me my camera and dragging me to where I take photos. I had to laugh at their enthusiasm. You know its got to be a hit when the kids will physically drag mom to get her work done.
Jenga Boom is a very clever idea. The Blocks rest on a platform that then collapses after the timer goes off. And then over the tower goes. The kids loved how it sped up the game and added the element of surprise to it. It was a hug hit with all the kids. The older three played the game according to the directions and couldn’t stop giggling every time it toppled. My four year old didn’t really care about removing blocks, he just had a blast setting them up and watching them explode. It kept him entertained alone for about an hour! I just had to make sure he played it on the table covered in a table cloth to mute the noise – those flying blocks can be loud!

Jenga Boom is definitely a big success in our house. We are about to get hit with a huge storm that will surely cancel school and leave us without power. I guarantee you Jenga Boom will be out on our table keeping the kids and I entertained. If you are looking for a new and exciting game to add to your collection make sure you pick up Jenga Boom. It will be a hit with all ages! To keep up with all things Game Night, like them on Facebook: www.facebook.com/
