My kids love to be creative but I hate messes! I’ll admit it – I don’t usually have messy projects for the kids in the house. But I still like to find ways for them to use their creativity. So anytime I find things we can use that don’t make giant messes I get excited. Crayola recently game me the opportunity to try out several of their fun products that get kids to be creative without making big messes.
The other night the kids were getting whiny and restless so I got our our new Washable Sidewalk Chalk from Crayola and took the kids in the backyard. It’s funny how fast all four kids got excited. We love the Washable Sidewalk Chalk because the kids can decorate everything and a little water cleans it right off. These Crayola Washable Sidewalk Chalk have taken chalk to a new level. With so many colors to choose from, kids can let their imaginations run wild. They now even come with all the traditional Crayola colors, and the colors really are rich and vibrant. I also love that they have a flattened edge so they don’t roll away.
It may seem strange but we let the kids decorate their play structure with chalk. The kids get to do something “bad” and there is no damage done. The write all over the structure and draw things everywhere. Then during the next rain it washes all off. If we want to we can also take the hose to the structure and the chalk washes away in seconds. They love making graffiti – even the teenager gets into it.
Graffiti art with sidewalk chalk is a great way to get older kids outdoors being creative. You can get them out in the sunshine using their creative juices instead of sitting and staring at electronics all day. They love doing things that seem like they should be against the rules, and this is a great way to let them have fun without damaging anything. It’s the best of both worlds!
Another fun Crayola product that we got to try out it the Color Wonder Markers in the Stow and Go container. I love these for entertaining kids on long car rides and plane trips. I used to always pack these for my kids to use when we went on road trips. The makers make brilliant colors, but only color on Color Wonder paper, and not anything else. So you have no worries about them decorating the car seat and themselves as you drive down the road. They absolutely saved my sanity. The kids stayed content and I didn’t have to scrub every surface that they could reach. The Stow and Go container is perfect too because it keeps the pens conveniently contained. The Color Wonder Mini Stow & Go gives you a portable writing surface and storage for your creations and markers. Perfect! The new glitter paper is so much fun. Crayola’s new Color Wonder Glitter Paper is full of glittery fun but without the mess, since the glitter effects are in the paper.
